Cedarvine Manor

|
The history surrounding Cedarvine
Manor dates back to 1832 when the grounds were purchased through
a Revolutionary War Grant. Construction began on the house
in 1834. It was hand crafted and not completed until 1864.
After the Civil War, the gracious two story structure became
a home for confederate veterans.
Recent renovation began in 1994, and took four years to complete.
During the restoration, a trap door was discovered in the
dining room floor, it led to a tunnel connected to a large
cave across the road. One wonders if perhaps it was part of
the fabled under-ground railroad?
